How Long Does It Take to Build a Website?

6 min read

We can usually get a demo homepage in front of you in three to five business days, and a full site live in about a week after that. Plenty of agencies quote sixty to ninety days for the same work.

Neither of us is lying. The difference is almost entirely about how the project is run, and how fast the client can get us what we need.

What actually causes delays

In our experience, almost every slow website project stalls on the same handful of things:

  • Waiting on content. Photos, service descriptions, staff bios, and pricing usually live in someone's head, not in a folder.
  • Too many decision makers. Three partners with three opinions on the shade of blue can burn two weeks easily.
  • Design by committee revisions. Endless small tweaks with no clear finish line.
  • Domain and hosting access. Nobody remembers who registered the domain in 2014.

How we keep it short

We build the demo first. You see a real homepage before you have paid anything or filled out a single form. That flips the usual order of things: instead of describing what you want in the abstract, you react to something real, which people are much better at.

We also write the content for you. You do not have to sit down and write eight pages of copy. You tell us what you do, we draft it, and you tell us where we got it wrong.

A realistic timeline

  • Day 1: a short conversation about your business and your customers
  • Days 2 to 5: we build your free demo homepage
  • Days 5 to 7: you review, we adjust
  • Week 2: remaining pages, content, SEO setup, testing
  • End of week 2: live, with the domain pointed and SSL active

The thing that speeds it up most

One person on your side who can make decisions. That is it. Not a bigger budget, not more meetings. One person who can look at a demo and say yes, or say what needs to change.

Give us that and a week is a comfortable pace, not a rush job.
